Optical Twin Probe System For Part And Tool Check ON Cnc Machine Tools

The “Twin Probe System” consisting of the OTS30, ORI and E83WA.With the introduction of the new Marposs OTS30 optical transmission tool setting probe connecting cables in the machining area are no longer necessary.
The new very small tube type ORI, Optical Receiver Interface, is able to manage both, OTS30 tool setting and E83WA part inspection probes in the same machine.

Interface Unit for Hard-Wired Connection of Mida Probes

The E32R interface converts the signal generated by the touch probe into a form which can be used by the machine tool CNC.On the front panel of the unit are located the terminal boxes for the I/O connections and some LED’s to indicate the following:

Green LED: lit to indicate “power ON”
Green LED: indicates the status of the touch probe:
- lit when the probe stylus is deflected
- unlit when the probe is seated.

Thanks to the gauging software packages Marposs has made available for the most common CNCs on the market, the E83WA system can also be installed on machines already in operation at end user premises.

The new technologies used are based on the use of miniaturized components and since the LEDs have a large operating range, transmission is guaranteed in all types of machines.
The transmitter can form a complete system with the receiver with an integrated interface, but applications requiring two or more probes in the same machine can use the E83T interface module.
